“WERGILD”
To sum up my thoughts in creating this, I call it “my take and opinion on socitey.” While, I know and hope, each one can be interpreted in many different ways by the viewer, these are my thoughts going in.
To be succesfull in todays society, there is some aspect of conforming. Yes, this does need to happen to a certain extent – addapting to your job and suroundings can be crucial. But, I choose to look at the bigger picture. There is an almost nesesity to conform to expectations, to preform in a way already mapped out. Weather this be a path set by parental influence or cultural imagry, we all have made decisions based on a preconceived ideal. Some may be right and some may be wrong – but I see too many people living miserable lives because they are obviously on someone elses path. Stop once in a while and evaluate where your going – is it your way or someone elses? Just choose! Make a mistake or two, but in doing so find your way.
So to skip out on the what means what I am going to leave it at that for you to explore.
All of the lettering on the models are quotes or paraphrases from musicians that say what I am thinking better than me. My art is visual, and I am more than happy to admit others are better at the written word than myself. I chose to do this in ransom note style because I think that meaning of entrapment is crutial to my thoughts. Take all of this but make your own thoughts!
